The majority of the Mint’s vast collection of gameheads can be credited to L.L. “Mac” McVean and Sam Mavrakis from their trip to the Yukon in the 1950’s. The majority of the other game, including the deer, coyotes, antelope, rabbits, elk, bighorn sheep and jackalopes all came from around this area. The two deer locking horns in the front corner of the bar were found fighting to death south of Sheridan -one deer had already died from exhaustion while the other died soon after their discovery. The fish were also caught in various Wyoming lakes and streams.
